Default Fan switch

Has anybody or is possible to hook up a switch to turn on the fans after the car is shut off to help cool the motor. I realize i could just hard wire the fans but i was just wondering if it there was an easier way to do.

Good question. Also, how would you hard wire the fans? I think it would be a good idea to let the fan run for a minute or two after you turn it off.

I am going to do this as well. I just need to know how to identify the high speed side of the fan motor. This will come in very handy while sitting in staging lanes at the drag strip.

Ground the LiteGreen/Violet wire on Connector C1035B on the BEC
or the LiteGreen/Violet wireon connector C175E on the PCM for constant
High fan speed cooling.

I do see a LiteGree/Violet wire on the fan connector on the fan that I could cut. So if that is grounded it will run? I could wrap a wire around it and; wire-switch-ground so it will run with the switch is on and if it is off will run when computer wants it to run?

Will this allow it to run with the ignition off?

No, the PCM still controls the 12V available to the cooling fan circuit.
This just bypasses the PCMs ability to control when the fan runs. You make
it run 100% of the time as long as the ignition is on. I dont think the engine
has to actually be running, just the key in the run position will suffice.
The wiring diagram is simple enough to understand as opposed to other
wiring schemes going on through out the new S197s.

NOT THE LITEGREEN/VIOLET WIRE ON THE ACTUAL COOLING FAN CONNECTOR - C1048

It has to be the wire I indicate above for it to make the HI speed cooling fan come on independent of the PCMs requirements. Like when staging and such at the track.
Ground the wire indicated above and the fan will run on HI until you unground it or turn
the Ignition off.

I'd like to set it up so I don't have to have the ignition on so I can walk away from the car and have the fan running but no keys in the ignition.

Dont remember where I saw it but Soundguydave had a nice setup I saw somewere that would allow you to run the fans and the elec. h2o pump at the same time with the car off . You might search his post and find it .
