Default Belt ripped.

Ok so I was accelerating up a hill, not too hard, but I hit a bit of gravel left over from construction. I heard the rocks shoot up and around underneath my car and first thing I though was oh man my engine going? But the Rpm's stayed and I smoothly kept accelerating up the hill.
When I reached the top I pulled over and found this.

This is what the ripped belt looked like..

Haha my friends thought it would be funny to take the pic like this...
Has this ever happened to anyone before?

It happens. Belts can go. I've seen a fan belt go on my grandfather's toyota pickup truck. Had to drive a few miles, pull over and cool off, drive a few more, etc.. until we got to the next town up the interstate where we got a belt.

In old cars it's not a bad idea to replace all your belts and hoses every few years or so. Shouldn't happen in a new car though.

Talk about a freak accident. I get an occasional wow story at my shop, but its a first to hear ofa rock getting flung up into the belt and shredding it.

If your car was still under warranty, I'll bet a dealer would get it taken care of for you

Well I had the car running yesterday and the rest of the belt went. The noise I heard that I thought was gravel was not, it was the sound of the belt parts flinging around under my hood. Sounds just like it though.
I cantacted whipple like last week asking to get a new belt and they haven replied yet. any suggestions on where to get a 124.7" long belt?

Any of the sponsors/vendors on the forum should have it in stock! Maybe Autozone or NAPA can order them?

PM- Moose or Hammeron they should know as well.......where are they?

I am sure Lethal performance can get them too!
