Default WTF, Vapor Lock on CAI?!?

So I'm looking into which CAI and Tune to put on to my stang and I read an article about Vaporlock. Basically driving when it is raining and the CAI sucks in some water or high humidified air.. Should this be a big concern for me if I'm looking at an C&L CAI??

Also which is better... C&L Racer or Airaid CAI???

Dont worry about Vaporlock. I've never heard of that actually happening. My car is a daily driver and I drive in the rain all the time. Its not a valid concern.

As for which CAI to get, they all provide roughly the same gains. Your question should be who to get the tune from. Most people, myself included, go to Brenspeed. The other half of the group go to Bama.

C&L Racer > Airaid

I accidentally drove through a few big puddles before, once I even pulled over and popped the hood to see if the filter was wet and it was still dry. So unless you drive through a stupid big puddle, I don't think you'll have a problem.

It is not vapor lock it is hydro lock and is usually only a problem if your car is lowered alot, have your filter located near the bottom of the fron bumper and you drive thru heavy rain. You will hear about it alot on import sites as most of their CAI are low to the ground!

get the c&l racer. does the air raid even have to be tuned? i thought that was one like the k&n cai. no tune required. if it is. def get the c&l racer and if you got the auto, bama tune, manual either is good. good luck with the choice. u will be happy with either.

I just installed the C&L racer from Brenspeed with the brenspeed tune, and OMG it made a huge difference. I am more happy with this change than I was with the change from 3.55 to 4.10 gears.

Just keep in mind if you order a tuner from Brenspeed it takes about 2 weeks to ship. I don't know about Bama.. no experience there.
