The Mustang is what I want, it's true that I can get a new 08 for less than 25k? I spoke to a guy on the lot that just bought an 08 for 25k. I was shocked. I found one for sale on craigslist, but hes asking 20k for an 06. And he's firm on that. I'll post a link:

I see a brown smeer on the drivers seat.. and a new fuel pump already? yeah.. i'm sure he was babying it.. probably let it run out of gas a few times..

There is a guy on here who just recently posted up his mileage... I think it was 120k on an 05 and he's had no problems.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the reliability... the American manufacturers are getting better and better every year. Infact, Toyota reliability has gone down in recent years due to the issues they had with the Tundra and Solara.

I have 6500 miles on my 08 (got it in March) and it's very solid still and that's with lots of hard driving under Texas summer heat.

Reliabilty coincides with how well the car was maintained. Id say pretty much every car nowadays are dependable.

Very true 9million. On that note, are there particular years that are more problematic than others?

250+ Drag Strip Passes and never broke anything on stock tires.
And I shift rpms that would scare most here.

I did blow one of the hydraulic motormounts once I went to slicks (was kind of expected). I changed to urethane mounts.

These cars are pretty tough.
They feel kind of gutless stock because of the throttle rate limiting in the PCM.
A Mailorder aftermarket tune fixes that. Makes a lot of difference in feel.

I had to replace my battery at 14,500 last week. I think its the original battery so it would be about 2 1/2 years old. I put an optima redtop in it so I shouldnt have to change the battery again for awhile.

We had to remove the battery and the battery box for my header installation about 3 weeks ago. I installed the prothane motor mounts at the same time as the headers and think maybe the battery died due to vibration from the new mounts or due to the installation of the headers.

Mainly the 1st year of a new model, but that goes without saying!
