Default Anyone Else Weird Idle After Header Install?

Just installed JBA shorty headers and now the idle drops to 500 rpm briefly when the clutch is engaged, then jumps back to the correct 750 rpm and stays there...

Is this just me or others? Will this go back to normal?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just installed these same headers recently and haven't noticed any dips in RPMs.

Sorry I can't help, but where did you guys get your JBA shorty's from? Do you have any dyno graphs or videos of your exhaust?

The JBA shorties can actually be had brand new on eBay for about $300 shipped. It's a great deal, I definitely notice a deeper and meaner exhaust note than before. I haven't been on a dyno before or after so I don't know the exact gains (waiting on the S/C), but these should net you at least 5-10 RWHP and a good deal of low end torque - though some people have reported more.

Another great thing about these is they're one of the few headers available for our cars with a Carb EO number - a must for us Cali folks.

well soapy water might work...otherwise you might be able to hear them if they are big enough

Mine did the same after the JBA shorty install. It went away after about two days of driving. Then, it happened again after getting an updated tune. Since you have a tune and an "oiled" air filter, if the idle lope does not go away after a day or so (or you want it tho stop now), clean your throttle body and MAF. I would also check the air filter and make sure that it is not over-oiled or the problem will quickly return.
