01-04 faster than 05-08?=(

2 reasons why it feels faster:
1) your not driving. this makes the car feel faster because a) when you are driving, and used to the car, when you floor it you unconsciously brace your body for the acceleration. you do things like grip the wheel harder and crane your neck forward. think about it. have you ever floored it and it was wet or something, and the car didn't move forward like you expected, and you braced yourself anyway, and realized it right after?
2) New edges feel faster to begin with; something about the way the seats are and the way the weight transfers. they also sound better...........even just the engine intake noise......100 times better than any 3v. but, i raced an 04 GT who had Full exhaust (lt's,) UDP's CAI tune 3.73's TB and Nitto 555r's and beat him pretty handily, when i had just a CAI/tune. i posted the video up a while back. its very misleading; the new edge is a lot of the time more fun to drive too.

3vs are faster, make no mistake... but as far as feel and response, yes the 99-04 is better imo (performance wise) the 05+ is a much nicer car though, but the chasis and sound deadening and weight all contribute that lower butt dyno your referring to

+1 on the drive-by-wire throttle system sucks. ford needs to go back to the throttle cable. thats why you feel the diff in the butt dyno. when your buddy hits the gas it takes off. where our cars have to send the signal to a computer thats why our throttle takes a sec to kick in. everyone on here says dougs race tune helps this lag a lot. might want to try that. but i can tell you from experience that our cars are a lot faster. i have smoked many sn95's. the old 4.6 doesnt hold a torch to the new versions.

Oh man it takes away the lag COMPLETELY. I was so amazed when I loaded the race tune. The moment you touch the gas it goes. I didn't think it was going to be possible with the DBW system but I guess so.
The brenspeed tune still had lag and it seemed worse than stock. I've been driving mine with the stock intake and stock tune for about two weeks now and even though it doesn't feel like it pulls as hard as the brenspeed tune, it's not as laggy and has no dead spots. The brenspeed tune also would have hardly no acceleration after every shift. It took like 1 to 2 sec to "kick in." It was kind of weird.
A brenspeed dyno tune would probably be fine however. All I know is doug's tunes FTW!!!
