Pro 5.0 3.90 vs FRPP 4.10
Hey guys, Im ready to order my gears as my buddy going to install them for me. I'm turn between pro 3.90 and the frpp 4.10
My car is a DD and does see 80mph on the highway.
I do plan on doing full bolt on, but cant see it having any kind of FI
my car stock has 3.55
Also, do i need to order some kind of kit or just the gears?

I believe motive is the only one who makes 3.90's and everyone else just repackages them.
Personally I would stay away from any gear that isnt FRPP. You are asking for problems with whine and such.
I would get the FRPP 4.10's with the A prefix I believe. Anything with a M, prefix is Motive so be careful when you order.
You should get the install kit for the shims and such, I think it is about $40.
Good luck.

I'll have to look into it more, I can't find a website for 5.0 however i was under the impression that they make their own gears.
Also, being that my car is a DD, do u think 3.9 make more sense on the highway then 4.10?

If FRPP made one, yes I would say a 3.90 would be a great performance gear, but since they dont I personally stay away.
If you switch to a 3.73 you wont see much difference from the 3.55's, so I would recommend 4.10's.
You will see a few more revs on the highway but it wont be bad if you normally cruise around 75mph.
The other thing to think about is tire height. If you replace your rear rubber with something taller than you in essence lower your final drive. So a set of 4.10's with a 28" tall tire will run similar for a set of 3.90's with a 27" tire.
The taller tire also looks bettter since it eats up more of that wheel gap.
Dont fear the gear.

Found some tire and gear calculators at www.ringpinion.com Found the Tremec 3650 gear ratios at www.ttcautomotive.com
For a tire height of 27.25", 4.10 rear, and 3.38 first gear 35 mph will be 5981 rpm. With a 3.55 40 mph will be 5918 rpm.
