Car feels underpowered....
Hey all, I recently purchased a used 2007 Mustang GT. Up until recently, the car has felt like it has the right amount of horsepower and torque, but a couple of days ago I noticed that the car just feels slower; I'm simply not feeling the power that I used to around 4-5K RPMs.....I'm usually only driving myself and my school stuff, not enough to majorly impact the weight of the car. Any tips on what I might be experiencing would be great, thanks.

Hm...
Are you used to having this powerful of a car?
I remember when I got mine I thought it was sooooo fast and with a little time I got used to it and it didn't seem as fast... aaand this is when the modding begins.
The only other time I can notice a slower acceleration is in high heat/humidity with a full tank of gas.

Could be you're getting used to it or the adaptive learning has detuned the engine or both. The CAI & tune would definately improve things but you can also try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes to reset the adaptive learning. Doing that won't wipe out your stock tune. I just did that recently and after a minute reconnected all my radio stations and everything else came back so don't sweat trying the battery disconnect.
This issue is somewhat common so don't be alarmed. Also as stated earlier, these engines are very prone to heat soak and will really dog when it's hot and humid.

i notice it mostly when it gets hotter out, performance suffers.
a weird thing i noticed-obviously the engine changes how it responds after a while. but, (with the engine warm), if you sit there and rev it hard a few times, i mean like to 6 grand, 3 or 4 times, with varying ways of doing it, it completely changes the adaptive throttle response and the whole tone of the engine and everything.
give it a try.

I read about Adaptive Learning in the owner's manual but it seems to only pertain to automatic transmissions and mines a manual......would it still apply considering it has to do with the engine instead of the type of transmission?
