The term "Cold Air Intake" is thrown around a lot in the aftermarket world. For these cars, a CAI is basically just a Mass Air Intake, not a true Cold Air Intake.

air comes in from under the front fender area. there is probably a lil snorkle type piece of placstic tubing at the bottom of the box. if there is pull it out. this will allow more air in. if its already gone, which it probably is, then there is enough air that comes in from under the fender on the dirvers side

Look at the hood. There's no box on there, like with some other upgraded models. So it's not getting just cold air.
But is the bottom open or closed?

Naw, thats what im saying..ive looked up, down and side to side and i dont see any holes or connecting hoses or anything giving it mass air flow..i know (or atleast i dont think) ford wouldnt build a car with a half *** intake but it looks as if it struggles to suck in air..

I was surprised when I got into the Mustang world that nobody has engineered a true cold-air intake. Better quality air is often more beneficial than just more air. Guess it's the design of the car that prohibits it.
