Default Flowmaster American Thunder - Interior Sound Level

If you have an 05-09 GT, and have installed the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system (mufflers only, no other exhaust mods like headers, x-pipes, etc.), I'm interested in knowing how much louder it is inside the car.

My normal cruising speed is around 80 MPH, so help me out here folks.

I had the AT axlebacks and they dont have much interior noise and no drone. Nothing like the flowmasters on my old 2 valve. They really aren't much louder than stock but do sound better. I sold mine and got bassani race axlebacks.

I've had the stock one's, switched to the Magnaflow's and have recently bought the Borla Stingers. I've done my research this is probably the #3 best sounding muffler(the AT). Interior noise is minimal since they are rear mounted, so you will hear very little drone while cruising at 80 mph. People will definetely hear the difference though, you'll love them.

Out of 10 I would give stock 2 and the flows a 3.5

Has anybody here had both American Thunders and GTA's? I have GTAs and wonder what AT's would be like.

I don't even hear them from inside the car. No drone whatsoever.

They are only a little louder inside the car than the stockers. I'd say maybe 25%. There is no drone and the exhaust note is very low and gurgly. The tips look great, and fitment was very good. I really like mine! If you are looking for a better sound than stock, but don't want to attract TOO much attention, they are a great choice. $309 at summitracing.com
