Default How much abuse can our cars take?

I am talking a totally stock 4.6 07 Mustang here.....

I have an Auto and I was wondering if flooring it here and there and spinning the tires once in a while is going to greatly reduce the life of my car?

I am not talking about any track stuff or burning the tires for 2 min on one spot...nothing like that...

more like really aggressive daily driving

btw thats not my car in my sig anymore, thats my old 4.0....I just like the sig LOL

Mustangs are strong, you can beat the **** out of them. My brother had an 03, he floored it to redline every day for 30k, with no problem. You got to drive mustangs hard or your a ***** (BUT you got to keep up your maintanance, thats what matters!). LOL

btw...LOL at the sig

As long as you don't do what's in your sig, you should be fine.

pretty sure nothing major will happen by doing that every once in a while (flooring it, i mean ); but, like volcomchester mentioned, keep up the maintenance and you definitely shouldn't have many worries

Well maintained or not things are going to break sooner. Just plan on fixing them when they come up.

As far as the engine holding together even if you beat on it pretty hard I'd be shocked if you didn't get at least 100K out of it assuming you properly maintain it (oil changes, etc.).

Put the pedal to the metal! It prevents carbon from building up in the combustion chambers.

Default A lot

My baby has been rode hard and put up wet (damn there I go again) for the better part of 3 years.
Had 1 major issue - catastrophic failure of the clutch at 11,900 miles (might have been 2 or 3 of us with that out of the first 180,000 cars built).

Since then, well...I've posted a lot of video so you can see what she has been put through.

I will say though that the tranny is due to be rebuilt now thanks to more than a few 6000+ RPM shifts, but the engine is still strong and the body is great.

Uhmm...no interior so not sure how that cup holder does after 30,000 miles

Along with keeping up the maintenance, and at least as important

Wait until it is warmed up before beating on it.

it won't hurt the car much, but aggressive driving will greatly increase your chances of having a wreck!
Then you'll have a nice running engine for the guy who buys your totaled car at auction for $4,000!
