Default Newby with a leak. -merged threads

I usually just read these sites but I have a problem that someone with experience can help me with I hope. I have a Whipple nonintercooled supercharger kit on my 06 GT and it seems to be leaking from the large hex bolt?in the snout on the front. Is this common? An easy fix? I know nothing is ever easy but can someone help.Much appreciated.

MYGT500- I merged your threads about the leak and the whipple S/C differences-hope it helps and welcome to the forum...and welcome to FI!

You need to post this in the section for 4.6 V8s. The people there can help you with your problem. I can only say welcome to the forums.

I've not read about anyone having a leak there. Only leaks i've seen are at the snout seal. Is this actual supercharge oil (is the level dropping in the sight glass?) or could it be grease?

Either way, i'd contact whipple about it. If it were me, i'd probably remove the bolt and add some teflon paste to the threads, but I would still contact whipple first.

Just email them directly, they are very helpful and respond quickly.

No oil visible? The oil is clear. It is visible whether the engine is running or not.

I would stop driving the car until you figure out if you have oil in the supercharger or not.

You really need to make sure that there is oil in that s/c. Especially since you aren't intercooled.

Thanks guys. It looked like it might have been coming from the hole in the center of the bolt. Would this be a breather or overflow setup? I cleaned off the pulley and surrounding area, added some oil and went for a drive about 5 miles. No leaks. I will be in touch with Whipple in the morning but I kinda worry about my daily driver. I have been having trouble with detonation and throttle lag with the procal tune. But I don't think that would have anything to do with it.I have an SCT/JDM tune on order, hopefully that will take care of the detonation.Being from B.C. there isn't too many Whipples around around here so I hope you guys will be patient with my posts. Going to attempt some pics and more info soon. Thanks again.
