best bet is to go to a mustang meet in your area and listen to some of the cars there, its a very personal thing to pick an exhaust sound. if your doing LTs and an O/R pipe, do those first and see the sound improvement before you change the axle backs - u may just like that

I have Maganpack with an O/R prochamber. It does sound good, but I am getting tired of the smell when I am sitting at a stoplight and living in San Diego County, I don't like driving next to cops. I hope these aftermarket cat sound better than stock, which didn't sound bad at all.

haha, these threads will never end...

Its all a personal choice...

Some people LOVE drone and the fact that their car sounds exactly like every other V8...but hey; its a personal choice...

You need to go out and find some cars with them on, or just go ***** deep and pick one.

Your honestly not going to be dissappointed with anything you buy, they are all an improvement over stock...the only dissapointing thing is when you hear another one and think its better than yours

Just dont cheap out...because you will regret it...

I agree with the above statement. Often the best sounding set-up is the other mustang.

pypes MM with an x all the way.
true its very personal and the best thing to do is change you heads/ mid pipe first if thats your intention and then axel backs but try to hear in person some different setups. also remember all exhausts get a bit louder with time.

I know the OP wants to install headers, but imho the best sounding setup is the stock exhaust with SLP Loudmouths.

If you like the stock sound but want it fuller you could go my route.

I have a Pypes O/R H, what I had welded up, and put Pypes Hi-flow cats on. I run that into 18" resonators then to pypes violators axleback. It is deep with a nice sound but not raw at all. Inside the car it is quieter than stock IMO.

It flows great, but I am not a "hey officer, look at me." type.
