With a good driver a stock GT can pull a 13.5. This is a magazine driver here. 0-60 in 4.9.

Supposedly others here have hit even better 1/4 mile times with stock cars.

I'm sure most people are going to see high 13s though. Driver mod.

That same mag (page 2) says the V6 runs a 15.1 1/4 mile. From what I've seen most stock V6 Mustangs run high 15s to 16s. I didn't get into the 15s until I did the CAI, custom tune, & dual exhaust. The 4.10 T-Lok put me in the 14s.

What the mags like to do is to adjust to the actual time for ideal conditions or use one of those G-Tech things to simulate a 1/4 mile run. You gotta go to the track watch them run & talk to the drivers to know what mods were done to get real world numbers.

I doubt that was the case here. There is no proof of that. Furthermore we have drivers here who have pulled similar or even better times.

now that we know you own a gxp....have you raced a s197, what times are you hitting?
so the gxp is quicker than the G8 GT?

I just bought an 08 Grand Prix GXP = 303hp V8 that comes from the factory with 255/45/18 tires that is a great deal faster than my 04 GTP. The GXP also come with 12.7" front & 12.0" rear drilled rotors.

I'm sure I'll hit the 13"s with my GXP. A freind's 2000 Mustang GT was running consistant 14.0 at the track 2 months ago and my GXP is faster than him.

My Wife's 06 V6 Mustang also runs consistant 14.7 even with the heavy 18" rims.
depends on the year and motor.....he was saying 3.8

I just got my GXP(LS4 V8) after a 16 year old girl tried to turn in front of me totaling my GTP(Supercharged V6) and doing a number on me. I only paid $16,200 for my 08 GXP with 9k miles on it.

Here's the factory brakes on a GXP 12.7" front 12.0" rear

I've seen claims of "stock" GXPs running as fast as 13.5 but I haven't seen one run. I've seen videos of GXPs running 13.8 to low 14s.

I'm looking forward to running my GXP against a s197 GT this spring. Should be a good race. Win or lose I will post the video. Before knocking a GXP go drive one

Per Edmunds the G8 GT runs a 13.7 but put it in a good driver's hands, let him race prep it "stock" and it should hit 13.5 easily.

On my wife's 06 Pony Mustang I wish I would of bought a GT then installed the pony grill. I also have a 65 Mustang Conv. Future plans for the 06 Mustang is to replace the V6 with a Supercharged 5.4L.

I went to the drags last night. 2nd time out with my FWD GXP so I've got alot of learning to do. There wan't any current body style GTs running last night so that will have to wait for another day.

I got my best time leaving the traction control on, starting out in drive then when it shifted into 2nd I put it in manual mode to stay in 2nd gear.

Still got alot of tire spin with traction control on. Best time was 13.88
My Son's 00 Camaro SS went 13.12 and his friend's 00 Mustang GT went 13.94.

We had a little fun teasing him that the "old family 4dr" is faster that his Mustang.
