Default Virgina vehicle inspections?

So I fail a vehicle inspection in DC today for unsafe tint and excessive exhaust noise. What are vehicle inspections like in Virgina? Is it like DC where there is only one inspection station that everyone has to use or can you get it at a lot of different places? I have 35% tint all around and my exhaust isn't nearly as loud as some street cars that I've seen (Frpp shorty headers to X-pipe with high flow cats to super 44 flows)

Try taking it to a ford dealership. Thats where most of the ppl I know get theirs done. Or find a small little shop where you can get by.

Brian, there are Virginia State Inspection Stations all over there area. But, that won't do you any good if your car is registered on DC. Your tint will probably fail in VA also (50/35 is the law) unless you get a station to cut some slack.

9 out of 10 gas stations in Virginia offer state inspections. Of course, you have to be titled/registered in the state.

I forgot to mention that I was going to be moving into VA soon anyways but I'll still be working in DC. So all the hassle that I went through today to get to the inspection station was for nothing. I'm hoping I can find a place in VA that will pass my tint.

I don't think you will get it passed with the tint, Va is very strict, for some reason, on tint. Even if you got it passed state and most local police carry meters to check the tint and will give you a ticket for it.

Correct me if I am wrong, But the state inspection stations don't have to check darkness of the windows anymore, it's all up to the state and local cops to inforce the tint laws. (50% front. 35% all rear).

if you could find a rather seedy place that would inspect you that would probly work. beyond that, everything State of VA related is pretty hardcore..

Are you serious? Everything that I have in my car is still 50 state legal other then the tint which was legal in Hawaii when I got it. Do you guys think I'll get **** for how loud my car is at an inspection station in VA? Do they do OBD checks in VA?
