replacing thermostat?

nice write up, But is the 08 gt the same or is there any new changes for the swap.

Different. The t-stat is in the top of the crossover tube, on the driver side, by the radiator hose. 2 bolts hold the cap onto the crossover; remove those bolts and there's the t-stat.

Hey there One Eyed , I'm a little surprised that you didn't go to a 160 when installing your Turbo. Curious...Is your noted 551 hp at the flywheel or wheels

i tried a 160,too long to warm up. 551 to the rear wheels.

Just make sure you don't forget the gasket. Been there done that.

By the bolts being located here, I assume this is where the blasted thing is? Thanks FORD. Oi! Perhaps I was just missing something when I was looking, but I didn't see anything else and the service manuals seem to confirm it for my car...Man that bites.

how do I access that bold on the slotted part of the housig? It is blocked by the intake manifold.

flex head ratchet wrench is the easiest. Just loosen it up and slide out the housing.

I tried a 1/4 drive 8mm short socket with a u joint fitting, but no dice. It is still too tall. What size socket did you use or what flex head did you use?
