Itellistick oil monitor thoughts opinions
I have read dozens and dozens of posts on how often to change oil as well as what kind of oil and the opinions are all over the place. One thing most can agree on is by testing the oil give's u a much better idea of the condition of the oil. I came across the device http://att.com.com/8301-13746_7-9811406-48.html that replace's your dipstick and give's u readings of your oil condition. Whats everyone's opinion on this device. Seems like a great idea.

Its called a Digital Volt Ohms Meter.
It only tells you the electrical resistance of the oil,
not the lubricating properties of the oil.

Coming from a background in oil analysis, I'd stay away from it as it doesn't tell you enough about the condition of your oil. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it would give you an immediate indication (the "spike" they spoke of) in the event you had something get into your oil such as in the event of a head gasket leak. Put the $500 towards sample testing.
