Default comp cam without low-end loss

Just shows it can be done:

I found this here: http://www.dynospeedracing.com/

The setup is in this issue of Hot Rod Mag

Not many specifics on the website. They say they put in springs, so it must not be a NSR cam.

the SPR series comp cams dont lose anything low end, spr standing for springs/phaser limiters/required. Its what i use and i lost nothing down low and it made power all the way to 7000rpms.

Any other mods installed at the same time or just cams? Unfortunately dynos rarely show data below 2500 rpm. There is less torque from 2500 rpm to 4000 rpm on this dyno, but I doubt it would be noticed. I love how flat that hp peak is, more of a hp plateau.

Actually, it looks like it runs a little bit "soft" between 5350 and 6150. I'd have expected a half dozen or so more peak hp at about 5800.

Comp Cam 1 here and no loss of torque on the lower rpm range, especially pulling steep mountain grades through 3500rpm's.I've never topped out the speedo since the cam install but that'l happen later I'm sure.
I know you guys are talking dyno specs here but putting the car on the street under a load(weight of the car) cams make a big difference. The HP gains are minimal but depending on you cam selection but torque gains are the best benefit from any cam upgrade.

Every cam dyno chart I've seen except for this one and except for FRPP cams showed dramatic hp dropoff at low rpms. That's OK if its a drag car, but is sucks if its a DD car.

And for the record, I notice in the chart above, the cammed hp plot stops at 2400 rpm. I don't know why they cut it off prior to the baseline plot. Maybe the hp would have fallen off a cliff below 2400 rpm?

How do springs and/or phasers prevent low-rpm hp loss? Asking because I don't know. And I admit I don't know a whole lot about cams - or much else about engines.
