I assume you have the 3.31 gears, if so then you should notice a significant gain in acceleration. If you have the 3.55 gears I dont believe it would feel like a big difference but still noticable.

I would love to feel the difference between 3.31's and 4.10's.

I've wondered the same thing. I have the automatic. I'm thinking the 3.73.1 would get throught 2nd & 3rd quicker. Anyone done this ?

I went from 3.31s to 3.73s. The change wasn't as dramatic as everyone makes it out to be, but it definitely made my car a lot faster. I probably should have gone with 4.10s even though it is my DD.

General consensus says 3.73 for automatics and 4.10 for manuals. I can vouch for both, I just put 3.73s in our 07 GT/CS auto and 4.10s in our 03 Mach1 manual. The 3.73s with auto and an intake/tune make for a GREAT combo. And yes, there was a noticeable difference between 3.31 and 3.73. Better around-town gas mileage as well.

I went from 355 to 410 to 373 (5spd). On an NA engine with intake and tune the higher gears are awesome and well worth it. You can go back and read old posts I've made on this subject so I won't elaborate here except to say, IMO, 3.73 is the best daily driver, track and AX gear, 4.10s are the best Fun/Weekend Toy gear. All depends what you want. To me the 355 (or less) are too 'blah' from a stop.

Do you believe a 3.90 gear ratio would be a good inbetween for a 5spd? (stang is my DD)

I'm sure that's true but seems spendy to go from just a 3.55 to a 3.73.

+1
If you are going to spend the $$s on
gears and 3.73s are as much as 4.10s,
go for the 4.10s unless you do a LOT of
high speed hiway traveling.
