Yeah, I tried to polish them first but it never really looked as good as I had hoped. So, I took them down a bit more and put 3 coats of primer and then 3 more coats of red.

You did a great job!!!

Every time I open the hood, the first thing I see is those fugly cam covers. You have inspired me to do something about it. I may paint them to match the car or even have them chromed. But I have to do something... it's annoys me to see them stock.

BTW, has anybody seen aftermarket cam covers for this engine? What would be really cool would be some "old school" covers. Something with fins/ribs and a logo on them. Either polished aluminum or chrome or satin black... something like these:

There is a nasty rumor floating around that Ford Racing is close to releasing some chromed covers. But the "old" school" chromed with flat black between the fins would be awesome!

Such a tease... []

Maybe I'll hold out a while longer and see what hits the market. But, I need to get rid of the stock covers.

Let me know if you find two sets... Kansas isn't too far to ship covers to.

Very nice indeed. I really appreciate the ideas and ingenuity shown here. It helps to see someone else do what I want to do but don't have any idea how to do it.
