mine didn't moose, infact mcleod states
that this is a straight bolt up kit (no
shimming), when you use either the
stock flywheel or a mcleod flywheel.

Where can you get the shimes? I'm considering putting one in when I install the Spec 2 so I can move my pedal down a little closer to the floor.

I was just curious since people were talking about shims. Spec told me the same thing.

Aclass, what do you mean closer to the floor? you want it to engage/disengage closer to the floor? I don't think shiming the tob will accomplish that, but I don't know. The spec 2 engages between 1/2 and 3/4th off the floor, it's closer to 1/2 way me thinks, just a guess.

You could make a shim fairly easily, but getting the height you want would be trial and error.

Thats correct Moose, I would like to have it engage/disengage further down. It's too close to the top to suit me.
On the old linkage rod setups you could adjust the rod but with these hydraulic cylinders you have no adjustment.

If you want to move the engagement point I am not really sure how you would do it, but in a perfect set up it should engage more toward the top. Makes it easier to modulate and faster to shift, at least that is how I have always understood it.

Well I just heard back from the mechanic and he says it is fixed.

Wooooo hoooooo.

He said.......

"I took the clutch out and polished up the splines on the input shaft and discs. I think because the 10 spline shaft VS 26 Spline you get larger splines that have more room for binding."

Said it was good to go. I will try and go get it Friday between trips.

ok i see what he did and why he
would want to do that.

no mention of the slave cylinder, was
a new one installed?

anyhoo sounds great and like Riptide says, let
us know how she feels

also, since the exhaust was removed, reinstalled
and tightened back up, let me know if there
is any change to the low rpm chatter.

Glad to hear Jay got it figured out! One less excuse to not go to the track though...
