if stage 3 puts the car at about 500 flywheel hp, then what kinda hp/torque does it have at the wheels!
i wanna kno real hp
and wat about the stage 4?...i would hope since stage 4 says it can produce 540+ flywheel, it could make about 500 at the wheels...true false? help me out here

I think you factor in about 18% drivetrain loss with the manuals and cant remember what it was for the AUTO guys maybe 20%....and go from there...

MYGT500 - I have generally always used 15% loss for a Manual and 18% loss for an auto, but they are just estimates. I figure with the need for better fuel economy the trans should be getting more efficient in the future.
I am biased but for the close to 500rwhp figure you are looking for I would go Whipple. Justin at VMP has whipple tunes locked in now. I made 484rwhp and 460rwtq with a Gen 1 whipple (less efficient than the new ones). Another guy made 499rwhp with a Gen 2 whipple (currently available). Also his mph in the quarter is over 122 so he defineatly has the power, it isnt Dyno hooey.
Thats my 2 cents.
Brenspeed and the Saleens are a great, but I just prefer the whipple. It is still to be seen what the Edelbrock, Techno, etc will do.

I agree, it seems like the whipple guys are makin more power with similar amounts of boost... I chose Brenspeed because of the price (at the time install was 650...)...
Another thing, just remember, these cars dont have to push out TONS of power like Chevy's and other brands to lay down a killer time at the track...S197's are far from dyno queens...

I havent been to the track yet, as i am still waiting to save the $$ for a Alum D/S and new wheels are tires (DR's), before I go.
At first I thought maybe the dyno was reading a little high but when I saw the Gen 2 car had 122mph in the 1/4 I have to think the number is damn close.

wow thats good...i already have BBK shorty headers w/ x-pipe and axle back exhaust, but i'm wondering if i should do some mods on the actual engine b4 i slap a blower in it, jus becuz i wanna make sure i can get #'s like that or even better, but then again i would rather not unless it would ensure safety on my engine...i dono if its worth the time an money or not

Problem is you are then on the very hairy edge of what the stock shortblock can hold. Some people have been fine and some loose the motor, its a crap shoot.
Honestly if you are 100% sure you want big power I would get the blower first. Run it at 10psi and get a nice safe tune for it. You will be in the 450rwhp range. Then start saving for a built shortblock (probably $6k) and when you can afford it slap it in and go nuts.
Putting more bolt ons isnt cost effective if you want a blower. And I wouldnt spend the money up front on a forged SB if you cant do the blower at the same time. Would you really want to drop $6-$7k and have the same power you do now? I wouldnt.
Blower first then build from there.
Good Luck.
