Default My car moans more then my girl...

This is getting aggravating already, but enough about my personal life..

Here is the real issue, my power steereing is giving me the impression that Julia Roberts is turning trix under my hood. I live in Miami so its not too cold too often, but in the mornings im having a nasty moaning and also an almost rubbing plastics kind of noise its comparable to a low pitch/tone squeal. Its odd, and it goes away after a minute or two. At least it did, thats whats bothering me. The past few days its been whining on a constant. a little louder in the mornings but it doesnt completely disappear like it use to. Its an '08 that i got in sept 07. That first winter(yeah winter in s.fla is a joke, i know) it would make some noise then go away. Same this year, but today its been at it all day it stared in the high 40's-50's and its warmed up now. Fluid is fine, no obstructions anywhere.. I'm baffled. I have 13k miles on it but i refuse to take it to the dealership. Anybody having this same issue, or maybe be able to point me in the right direction? Any help(with the car, not my girl) would be appreciated..

My 08 just started doing this last week. If she keeps it up, I'm going to smack her. She usually shuts up within a minute or two though. I also assumed power steering as the cause. Let me know what you find out.

Smoked, you shouldn't have to try
to fix this yourself, how bout taking
her in to the dealership....you may have
to let them keep it overnight though.

Well, no luck last weekend on getting any closer to an answer, no time to play with my car.. It did warm up and I dont think it'll be dropping temp for a while so if time permits i may attempt some trials under different loads to see if that makes a difference. Maybe the pump is working to hard because of my pullies, not really sure. The first winter it was stock and when i changed them last year around march it remained the same. I'll see if under a little less stress it stays quiet. I'll post any findings..

Take it to the dealer. It could cause a more serious problem down the road.

+1 on the dealership. Give them a chance.

If your car is moaning more than your girl then you may need a larger "purge tube". Just joking man. Someone had to say something! Good luck on getting this figured out. Let us know what you find out!
