I picked up a stock 2006 GT convertible 5 spd with 27K miles on it in Tampa yesterday and drove back to TN on the interstate (up hill all the way). Averaged 26 mpg at 70 mph and 28+ mpg at 60 mph, calculated (with top up).

10-11 MPG, hand-calulated. 100% city driving.
Automatic, 3.31s.

~ 150-160 Miles to the tank.

My gas mileage should improve with 3.73s.

I get about 23 to 24 mpg. 80% highway 20% city driving. Once I got 31 mpg but it sucked driving that way. 50 to 55 mph on a 40 mile straight flat stretch of road.

If i reset the comp when i get on the highway, and look at it when i get close to my school. Thats cruising at 60 mph with only 1 stop, its right around 32 mpg. Then, when i get into the town at my school, it drops to 22 ish. With work and school driving ill stay around 20

The computer is not very accurate, you can easily subtract 1-2 MPG, at least on mine.

Who cares? Gas is $2/gal. When it starts creeping back towards $3 and $4, I'll check.

This is true for the vast majority of owners and not just Stangs. The only way to get an accurate value is to hand calculate, pump-to-pump fill-ups. Resetting the computer at the pump after you fill-up will also help you determine if there's something amiss, if nothing else.

Also, resetting the computer while cruising does NOT give you a true indication of your average MPG. But if it really gets you excited, shut your engine off while cruising and feel free to brag that you get infinite MPG.

My driving is pretty much 50% city/50% hwy. According to the computer which has not been reset in close to 9 months... I am averaging 22.5 MPG. Hand calculations tell me 20.6 and a few more numbers past that....

I for one am VERY happy with the mileage my car gets
