Default major problem

i just bought a jlt cold air combo, with a x3 tuner from american muscle, which came with a free tune. i put the intake on right, and tuned with american muscles tune and the car shook and was idleing very rough, acting like it had no gas, i put 93 in it before i had the intake on so thats not it, i had the intake on right, with the help of heritage customs, and then i put the standard preloaded 93 tune on and it stopped shaking and idleing rough, but was horrible in acceleration, ALOT worse than stock it pulled good deep in the gears, but was real slow off the line, so i thought screw it and put the stock intake back and ran the preloaded 93 tune and it still was slower than stock, imo. so i talked to doug at bamachips and he was very helpful, i bought a 93 torque tune from bama chips, and it helped alot, but the acceleration is still bad, and it doesent pull as good as stock, i dont know, also it makes a very high pitched whistle noise, and someone told me it made a horrible noise while driving. idk. i dont know what else to do. any opinions/ feedback?

the whistle is the cai pulling in air. pop the hood with the car started and you will hear the air being funneled in. wish i could help on the acceleration but that has got me confused. i know when i had my c&l racer on my 07 it would scream off the line and all the way to redline. might be something else doug can help with. give him a call and tell him what all is going on. he should be able to adjust the tune for you and email it to you.

When I began reading your post I figured it was AM's tune, period, since a lot of people have been complaining about their tunes. But as I read on, I was very surprised to hear that Bama's tune is still not, in your opinion, up to par. If Bama can't seem to help, I'd return the car to stock just to make sure all is back to normal before trying any further troubleshooting. Matter of fact, I'd return it to stock anyway just to be sure.

Double check the filter and the intake tube for any small holes, sounds like their is a leak somewhere.

One possible source of the vacuum leak is the MAF sensor. It has a rectangular rubber gasket that may have remained in the stock air intake when the MAF sensor was removed and reconnected to the new CAI.
