Help me install a Auto Meter shift light.
So I have a standard Auto Meter shift light and an Auto Meter tach adaptor. I have already looked over the directions but it looks Arabic to me. I looked at all the how to threads and could only find the install for a raptor shift light. I've installed gauges before but this seems to be a little more complicated. I would appreciate it if someone could walk me through the process. Thanks.

Cant help ya.
Shoulda got a Raptor ShiftLight.
Simple 3 wire hookup and no tach adapter needed.
I think you need the AutoMeter Tach to use the
AutoMeter Tach Adapter...
Maybe a link to the online instructions for your AutoMeter items?
This would be the only way for ME to figure it out long distance.

I've seen where some people have installed the raptor shift light within a vent, but I wonder how cool it would look if you installed a vent gauge and how probable it would be to install the shift light behind the gauge..
LEDs are usually bright so I don't see why the light wouldn't illuminate around the vent holes around the gauge.. I think it could look cool and even more so stealthy than just a shift light in the vent.
Off topic, sorry.

Ya but a lot of this stuff lately is weight reductions stuff. I got this shift light a while ago and took one look at it and put it off. But after the other night I realized that I can't go without one anymore. You have to remember that all these mods that I'm doing I'm doing them for the first time. Before this car I wouldn't have even been able to tell you where the cats were on the exhaust system. But through much failure and a lot of hours of labor I've figured almost everything out. I really owe it to guys on here because without the forums I'd still be trying to figure out how to install a CAI.
As for the shift light, I sat down last night and looked at the directions and figured out how to do it. It should be a pretty painless install today. But hey thats usually what I'm thinking when I go into something and it always takes me much longer then it should. WE'LL SEE!!!??? HAHAHA!!!

Its going to be like the third diagram that shows 8 coils
but the place you break the red power wire needs to be
at D5 C1035B on the BEC under the hood. You need to
break BOTH red wires there as each side of the engine is fed
with seperate wires.
Or go the 4 coil route and just break one of the red power wires.
This might explain it better.
