stock again.. )-:
well, it's official. I am stock once again. Until I figure out what the heck is wrong with my car and why it keeps on dying every few weeks, I am just gonna run it stock. Took it to Ford 2x already, with a clean bill of health. Took off the auto start/alarm, thinking it was the culprit- only for the car not to start once again..doh! New battery, alternator checks out fine.. I am stumped. At least being stock, if they look at it again they'll have to find out what's wrong with it.. right??
(e_3)?! oui
I am thinking of running a bama race tune with the stock intake... I know I won't gain as much but the way stock shift really blows. I need some sort of power driving around town...

so if i'm reading this correctly, the issue
boils down to:
even though you have a known good battery and
the charging system checks out fine, occasionally
the car just won't start.
if this is correct, then what does it take to start the
car, after one of these occurances?

with the C&L racer intake, I had to upload the stock tune.. then it'll start. I'll let it run for a second. Shut her off, start it again just to make sure it will, then reload the custom tune. Starts up every time after that. Or it will start if I unplug the battery for like 5-10 minutes, then plug it back.
Not sure what to do once it's stock and it dies again though.. load the pre-program tune then the stock tune??
I had the intake/tune for nearly a year...

it sounds like something in the KAM
(keep alive memory) or maybe some other
parameter in volatile memory is being
cleared, in order to start the car.
the only thing that occurs to me, would be
maybe it has something to do with the
throttle position sensor or maybe the
throttle body itself. maybe the MAF needs
cleaning....

This is a weird issue though. What happens when you try starting it?

I am just gonna run it stock for awhile when I know it's fine I'll put the C & L racer intake on with a different tune..

I have a feeling everything will be fine with it being stock.. which still doesn't help much because if that's so, something's up with the tune. Weird, I have been running that tune for nearly a year...

I know this sounds like an oddball question, but would it still be worth to mod the car out with the stock intake/tune? since it's an electrical issue somewhere, it's would still be safe to do,say- a full exhaust, high stall TC and other bolt ons that require no tune?? and still make good whp??
