Default Axle Back Exhaust

I have been thinking of buying a new exhaust system for my 05 GT. What will give me the best sound, aggressive and loud but tolerable for everyday driving.....i am looking for that original low deep tone and growl. Trying not to break the bank either. Whats your opinion anything will help. Mac, flowmaster, cherry-bomb, bassani, magnaflow...etc?
Thanks for the help

SSS (stainless steel systems). Great product for the money!

If you like the sound of the original 1968 Bullitt, then you will like SSS.

Do a search! Someone on here recently posted a big write up with clips.

One of the things I did was to go on Youtube and listen to various sound clips. There are a ton of them on there for 2005-2008 Mustangs. At the end of the day, it didn't make that much difference to me as long as it wasn't stock.

I vote for MAC Axle-back's or Boomtube's.

Great quality and they sound great. There is a little drone right at 2000 RPMs with the regular MACs, but it's not that big of a deal.

+1 on the Stingers (FRPP/Borla). They do drone a bit in the 1500-1800 RPM range but even THAT has an appeal.

The Macs drone like mad! Flowmaster ATs have no drone and a nice tone, but are not much louder than stock. The SSS might be worth checking out too. I've also had SLP Powerflos that were real nice and fairly loud, but not too bad. Great tone, and they had minimal drone as well.

Here is a vid of the MBRPs I have now. They sound great and the fit and finish is top notch. They were the only set of mufflers out of the 4 I've tried that bolted up and fit perfectly with no bending of hangers or loosening of midpipe. I would rate them as medium on the loudness scale. Louder than stock, but not ridiculous...

I will cast my vote for Mac boom tubes. They are very affordable and sound great.

But many have siad they have drone.... I too want to update the exhaust with a little more aggressive sound but do not want the DRONE as this is basically driven alot on the highways. car is bone stock performance wise right now.....so I am looking for good axleback mufflers that work well with a stock exhaust system.

I drive on the highway exactly 5 hours back and fourth from Lubbock to DFW and the drone really isn't horrible. If you really want drone, get some Borla's.

Throw on an O/R pipe and that'll cut down the drone by a fair margin.

Wow, haven't seen Brian post on MF forever. haha
