Well I'm still leaning heavily towards the ***** Thumprs. The concerns I had are pretty much gone now.

But I still like the hot rods a lot. Their lope, while not as aggressive as the Thumpr, still gives major wood and most of the dyno sheets I've seen of them look very nice (those who had headers and stuff at least). No low end loss and gains from 3K up. The Thumprs don't gain until later which is the bad thing. But with 3.90 gears I should be good to go.

The other good thing Dave told me in the email is they have seen 30 HP increases with these cams and the Saleen supercharger. I didn't think they would get gains with FI but it looks like it. So if I decide on that edelbrock blower they'll work just fine and continue to sound cool. So one of my other fears I had with the Thumprs is now gone.

Here's his quote directly:

"Today's variable cam timing allows a lot more flexibility in choosing
your camshaft. I would say at this point there is very little need for a
specific "blower grind" like what was needed in the past. I have seen the
Thumper cams (127-020) make as much as 30 RWHP with our Saleen kits."

Nice!
