Custom Turbo build-up...
I have been working on this monster twin 67mm water-cooled 3V build for a while now. It is coming pretty close to getting finished. Should have it on the dyno within a couple weeks. The goal is to have a streetable 1000+ rwhp 3V through the stock computer.
I want to see what I can do on the 3V first before I go for a full time head's up drag car. Anyway, some of these pics are old, but thought I would consolidate them in one post...
First thing is to prep the car for the build and shave 400 lbs off the car...
Next step was prepping and refreshing the motor and putting aside...
Now to start getting parts and organizing...
Have to start a turbo build at the headers. You can use the stock manifolds like most of the 'kits' do, but to really get the most bang, you want to design the headers to your system...

Now to find a good spot for the hairdryers... the fog lights seem like a nice idea...
Now to go to town on the hot side of the system...
Hot side looking good, time to start working on the intercooler and cold side...
Diesel stack FTW...lol
Okay - back to serious on the cold side...
Do you think the duct tape will hold?...lol
Better to just do it right...lol
Setting up the reverse intake...
Numbers and track vids are coming soon. This car will be at PSCA at Fontana on the 15th. Should be an interesting season this year and a lot of fun. However, I am saying goodbye to the modular motors and index/bracket racing and stepping up with the big boys next year. I already have this motor waiting in the wings for the 2010 season ...

and the Chevykiller is going to heads up racing and should kill the EDR (Extreme Drag Radial) class next year. I'm really exciting about it - but I am still going to see what in the heck the 3V is capable of first....
Some cool vids coming soon...
