No on said anything about trading in anything. I simply stated that i was more happy with the 04 gt and that i would rather have another one. It ran strong and hard with and without the mods. i'm just simply stating my opinion in which i have the right to have and my opinion is.............i like my 04 gt better. Im sure plenty would agree and disagree with me on that, so dont try to talk trash, i was just wondering if anyone felt the same. By the way i got a good deal on an 04 gt so come monday, ill have an 04 and an 08 because thats how i roll.

What are you ****ing kidding me? If one feels torquier than the other than it probably feels faster. That isn't some difficult to make connection there Sparky.

Just a thought, but the power curve on the newer engines seems smoother thanks to the VCT - which should also technically give the 05+ cars more low-end power.

I'm guessing it's just something in your head - the combination of stock electronic throttle "lag" and the smoother VCT power delivery as it adjusts throughout the power band.

Well, stock the drive by wire feels like ***. Throttle response is horrible. Combine that with a heavier car similiar torque curve, S197's power feels
"gentle". IMO, S197's are faster then they feel. They just dont have that break neck lowend power.

Have any of you driven the 2004 F-150's with drive by wire? oh man they're so laggy

Anyways... I've got a 2008 with some basic bolt-ons and a canned tune and it feels way torqier than an 04. I think the tune gets rid of the laggy throttle response.

The tune seemed to help make the car feel snappier but it seems to learn after a while and require periodic resets if you want to maintain that crisp feel to it. Kind of annoying.

I highly agree with you i reset mine yesterday and it felt good, but you are right with the periodic resets, it is going to be annoying.

OK, then let me amend my post:

I'd trade it for an '04. Who cares it it has 20 lb. ft. less torque as long as you "think" it has better torque...
