Default Fun while it lasted.

Well, I am trading in my GT tomorrow...ending my 4 year love affair with the Mustang. Thanks to all that have offered advise to my threads. I've enjoyed my Mustangs (v6 and GT), but it was time to move on to a vehicle a little more "child" friendly. I'm replacing the GT with a 4dr Wrangler Sahara so I think I'll still be modding, just in another direction.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though. My wife has given me the green light to purchasing one of those Factory Five GTM kits! A worthy sacrifice in the long run.

Thanks again guys,

RedDogGT.

Take care and when the kid grows up a little, perhaps you will someday once again be able to make the pilgrimage back to the land of man cars...

take it easy, and hey do us a favor.. if you get that GTM, post a build thread! just be prepared to spend a LOT of money. from what i've seen, you'll easily spend $40-50k to build it right. i'm sure it will be worth it in the end though.

I thought a long time on giving up the mustang for a GTM or just heavily modding my GT. Ultimately the performance stats were just too tempting (we're talking the difference between a Corvette killing GT and an Enzo stomping GTM). Combine it with the growing pressure from my wife to get a child-seat friendly ride, and I have to let the Mustang go.

I've done the numbers and the GTM should run about 45-48K if I exercise a fair amount of DIY. There are a few threads out there detailing GTM builds, but most lack enough detail for my liking. I'll post a quick thread when I get the kit in and have made some headway.

Good luck with the jeep but read some reviews on it before purchasing. I was all set to buy one but after reading reviews i changed my mind. They are way unpowered and the roof leaks on both the hard and soft tops. I really wanted one too but i people arent happy with them.

Jeeps are fun, especially if you live anywhere in the west with some trails available. I suspect we'll wind up back out west eventually (probably Colorado), and when we do, I'll be buying a Jeep immediately for my DD.
