Default Rough idle/sluggish accerleration with white smoke coming out the tail pipes

i have a 2001 GT with an eaton supercharger on a stock 4.6 motor and it started yesterday idling really rough and when i hit the gas it would begin to backfire a little bit and then when it got past 3500 rpm it would run smooth again nd its running real rich
and then today i drove about 5 miles to the store and when i got home there was white smoke coming slightly from under the hood butmore from my tailpipes im wondering what is wrong with my car
it has 58k miles

Sounds like a misfire, check your plugs to make sure they aren't fouled. Are you getting a check engine light, If so get a diagnostic run immediately. Hope this might help alittle.

White smoke/steam our of the exhaust, possible head gasket. You should do a compression and leak down test.

Dealership can do it, is it under warranty or not. If not I would recommend finding a good private mechanic in your area. If you can find someone reliable they can do the jobs for allot less 90% of the time. If your not mechanically inclined I don't recommend doing your own work just because our cars are i bit pick and easy to break. The pugs were a 2 piece design from (correct me if I'm wrong guys) late 2005 through early 2007 and they like to break in half. Being supercharged could definitely increase your chances of a blown head gasket. Also If you know it could you list out all of the after market mods that were done to your car. It would help us understand what your car has been through. Oh and one last thing, if your car is an 01 you may want to post in the forum section for your year vehicle. The folks in that section would have a little more knowledge on your particular year vehicle.

Whose warranty? Certainly not the factory, if it's an 01... and has all of those aftermarket parts.

Head gasket or rings. Either way, don't drive it.

Do you see any oil on the ground under your engine or do you see any oil dripping down from around your heads? If not, it is probably just the spark plugs. The smoke could possibly be from the excess fuel that is not being ignited properly. During the missfire a header gasket could have blown and you could be getting smoke from under the hood because of that. Do you hear a loud exhaust leak from the engine compartment? Hopefully it is just the spark plugs. If not, I hope you have a lot of money because if it is the head gaskets or the piston rings it is going to cost a lot of money to have those fixed. Do some praying that it is not the piston rings.
