well... usually if you up the boost, this involves getting a smaller pulley. so in order to run 10 on the street and 15 on the track, you would be switching pulleys every time you go to the track...? this also means that who ever tunes your car would have to tune the car with both the 10 and the 15 psi pulley on it and you would have to switch tunes at the track each time...
I would stick with one number and go gung ho... A 3.4 or a 3.2 is a good size pulley for a stock car (9-10 psi)... 3.4 is what comes with the saleen stage 3 that Brenspeed offers... which is what I have on my car... good stuff! They garuntee a 11 second pass with the stage 3... and they are completely right!!! you wont be dissappointed with 9-10 psi at all, whether its vortech, saleen, or whipple (or any other FI brand)...

Stay under 10ibs of boost. One of the local tuner's (Ramsey's Performance in Tampa, FL) did a test with his S197 to see how much boost the stock block can really handle. I forget what number he said exactly, but I believe it was 10 ibs, the stock rods bent. You don't want that to happen...just stay under 10 and you'll be happy.
I mean - shoot - I have a stock bottom end in my Mach and am running 8 ibs with my Kenne Bell making 475 rwhp. That's pretty good if you ask me...
My friend has an '06 auto that he just put a KB on and is making around 480 rwhp with plans to get it more in the 500+ range with a few more breathing upgrades. So - you don't need to worry about not being able to make much power with little boost (at least with a KB...)

Psh...that's what I did =) And I'm very happy! I know a lot of s/c'd cars with stock internals - it's just about keeping the boost levels down and you can still be a very happy camper. I mean, how else can you get a 100-150rwhp boost without too much labor and work?? =)
