Flowmaster "classic" axlebacks
Still trying to make up my mind on what axlebacks I am going to get. Was debating between Mac's, Boomtubes and the new "classic" Flowmasters. For someone who has heard these in person, do they sound good? I really don't like the original American Thunders they came out with for the 3v. Supposedly they are supposed to be close to the old foxbody sound. thanks for your input.

have not heard the classic dronemaster, i mean flowmasters on the s197 in person.
but the boomtubes sound good. midmufflers are good too.
and if you are trying to duplicate the fox body sound in an s197, forget it. the only way I found to get the fox body sound was to buy a fox body. lol.

I didn't like my chambered Magnaflow as first but now that I have long tubes and o/r hpipe they sounds great. Exhaust is very deep sounds and intimidating. Not to mention I also have cams installed! MACs sounds great also, haven't heard the new flowmasters...I don't like the company name...flowmaster, shows like a toilet company!

I have the Pypes mid muffler exhaust and I am pleased with the sound and performance. The only issue was the poor fitment.
I had a muffler shop install them because of the following issues:
1) One of the pipes the needed heating up and bending
2) One pipe was longer than the other and had to be cut
3) Replaced clamps because there's were junk.
But after a little TLC and a desire to make it right it's
a nice setup. All stainless pipes with stainless mid mufler glasspacks.
Best of luck,
Al

The classics have much more drone than the regular flows. I thought it was too much for my taste. I don't know if I trust the flows anymore after all the talk of the welds comming loose in them and making a rattle anyway.
