I've driven both. The MGW definitely shifts a bit easier, but if you can't get down the 1/4 mile without shanking a shift using the hurst, you shouldn't be on the track to begin with. Like I said, the MGW shifts smooth as silk, but for the $$ difference, I'll stick with my hurst. Haven't missed a shift yet.

I'm having the MGW shifter and an aluminum driveshaft installed on my already lowered 2006 GT. I also like the Hurst look so I ordered a Hurst shifter ball to go with it. I'll post again after the install - hopefully, no issues.....

I have a 2008 Shelby GT with only 1400 miles. It shifts great but the rattle drives me crazy.

i have the hurst billet shifter. i have no issues with rattle, never did. but i did read a post from a forum member long ago. go to ace hardware and buy plasti-dip(rubbercoating) and spray it in your ball assembly. and also put rubber caps on your shifter stops!!

Love my Hurst. The only downside is that the ball is buzzing above 3k when I push it. It seems to be caused by the vibrations transferred through the shifter and stick to the ****. Since the **** is very light and partially hollow, it very easily vibrates. The noise goes away with my hand on the ****.

I need to try it with the stock **** to see if it quiets it down.

i just ordered my hurst shifter from summit right before i found this thread. Definately had my doubts about going with the hurst over mgw but you guys have reassured my decision on the hurst! Plus the great price helped me out A LOT.

Anywa, Did anyone run into any problems with the instal? Im only asking because i would like to put it in myself, im not an idiot but im also not all that great with this stuff and i dont want to run into a problem, then be stuck with not being able to get it to a shop... should i be able to handle it or should i buck up and pay the money for someone to do it? anything helps, thanks guys
