07 FltRoc GT

I have the hurst billet short throw in my car. I regularly get a grind from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. Is this a byproduct of the remote mounted shifter or maybe bad syncros? On occasion it is hard to get into first and or second as well. Kind of feels like the linkage is hitting somthing which stops it from going into gear. Anyone have any ideas whats wrong and what i can do to fix it?
