Default auto vs manual

so ive been looking for a car to buy and the one i was talking to the guy about apparently has a lifted tick or something like that.. there is another nice one in really good shape but it is an automatic.. i was looking for a manual but if i were to get into an automatic how do the transmissions hold up? and when going for a powerful fast car what are the pros and cons of each? thanks.

We recently touched this topic in another thread. Take a look through it and it may answer some of your general questions.

ya.. this thread can be deleted.. manual is just soo much more fun. driving an auto i think would leave me feeling like i should be doing something with my spare foot and spare hand..

I've had one of each. An 07 auto and this 09 manual. I prefer the auto frankly.

What is a lifted tick?

I don't think I'd want to buy a car with ticks in it. But, you know, that's just me.

if its "lifters" ticking thats a cheap part. I love manual.. makes driving 10X more fun. Specially when you go out to drive around for no reason.

I prefer auto, i shift enough in my truck... a "lifted tick" is a little blood sucking creature that has more suspension travel and sits taller!

yup... lifter tick, sorry about that.. the guy at the dealership said he would have it looked at a little closer and see what we are up against.. the car has low low miles and is in beauty shape other than that and the price is $11,000 cheapest ive found so far with exception to one for $9000.

is the lifteR tick pretty common with these? someone mentioned it being a cheap fix, any info is appreciated, thanks.
