So I am shop shopping and spent some time with a real nice guy here in Texas. He recommended that I may want to have my injectors flushed. This is not a jiffy lube joint but an actual Mustang shop... What do u guys think? Is it recommended or is it a waste of $85.00? I kind of got that oh no feeling when I heard that but I want to get your informed opinion.

waste of money IMO. are you experiencing any issues? rough idle?

many of these services are simple $$$ pits for the various Dealerships and Shops. It's something that 99% of people won't need, but is very easy to sell by making leading statements and plying on peoples inherent distrust of complicated machinery.

save your money...or go have a nice dinner/movie.

Without looking it up, I bet you could get new injectors for around $200. I'd rather have that than trying to get some old ones flushed. They are easy to install too.

my wife did an injector flush on her neon srt-4. We were like "whoa" as soon as we pulled away. Throttle responce was way more crisp, acceleration picked up, and we did notice a gas mileage increase.
My oppinion is that it is well spent money.

I have the OEM injectors off my 2009 GT that would be willing to sell you. They only have about 3000 miles on them. I took them out when I put in the SC.

Then you should ask yourself, why was this honest nice guy recommending you flush the injectors?
