Default Stereo Problem

Ok I have a 2008 Mustang Ford GT. While listening to my IPod, on what I'd consider "loud" and NOT "blasted," my passenger side bass stopped working. Music is coming from the front passenger side, but absolutely no bass is coming out of that bottom speaker.

Now, is this in fact a blown speaker? If so, how could it happen? Car has under 5k miles, and did the previous owner possibly abuse it?

And finally, is this covered by insurance?

Thanks for the help.

Did ya consult the owners manual for the correct FUSE to check?
How bout swapping the outputs at the head unit?
Does the problem follow or stay where it is?
How many ohms does the voice coil seem to be?
