Bro, noone here is "getting harsh." You asked for our personal thoughts about this and some of us think it's possible while some don't. It seems to me that you are the one bashing us for not blindly following some thrown together math.
But seriously, man it's great if you hit 170. I personally have driven my car at 145 when the spedo ran out and it was so squirrely by that point that I don't care to push it any faster. Also, my automatic theoretically has a higher top speed because of it's 3:31 gears (rather than your 3:55s).
Let's be serious about this. No more hasty math (I hate math, anyways) and no more blind assumptions. Get a higher spedo (such as out of a Saleen) and run it on camera as fast as you can hold onto it.
I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor, and for the bragging rights of everyone here I hope you -did- hit 170. I just don't think it happened. Perhaps 160.

Man, I was just having fun myself. But like someone else said here, I don't have enough road to try to run here wide open. Plus I'm a police officer and if I'm caught doing that ridiculous speed I will lose my job. I was already caught doing a 100 mph by a state trooper and I was lucky then that I wasn't put in jail and had my license revoked.

With an updated 91 oct CAI predator tune the max shift points for a manual are (6800 rev limit):
1st 46 mph
2nd 77.5 mph
3rd 117.5 mph
4th 155 mph
5th 231 mph
We should never need to shift out of second gear now (legally), we can just throw the other 3 away and save some weight

I had mine at 140 MPH at the weekend and the hood was shaking around like J Lo's ***........did you not get any shaking on the hood at that kinda speed???
The whole hood shakin issue it pissing me off as I want to get mine up to top speed but just too nervous about the hood to do it!

i agree with SALEEN- change that speedo- i sure will- might be possilble to hit it, but u can be sure u probably were in the 160's some where- great job-I HAVE THE NEED FOR SPEED[:@]

Like I said in my original post...I dont know exactly how fast I was running. By the charts, my "poor math skills" pretty much on the money. If you'll notice, the subject on this thread has a question mark(?) in it. Have fun guys, but please BE CAREFUL.....sorry, its the Firefighter in me..
