slidai,

Listen to me when i say get a used procharger system..... screw all the boltons. If you want quick reliable power, get a procharger for about 2500-3000. Why spend all that money for only 300rwhp when you spend the same amount, if not a little more for 400-500 rwhp? If you have any questions PM me. Seriously..... 2500 gets you a used procharge system that will blow away any bolt on GT with those mods everyone listed.....

thats a vortech 1750 shipped. you can probbably low ball for less. All you need to complete that kit if a kenne bell boost a pump, 39lb injctors, and a new pulley. All that less than 400 bucks.

So say roughly 2k in parts. Install yourself is free, paying someone, another 500 and you got 2500 for a boosted stang......

I see what you are saying about a supercharger... but honestly, I don't know if I feel comfortable with a blower. What are the internals rated at on a stock gt?

Remove the alternator . . Think i could get this done in say... 5-7 hours with help?
No especially if your doing things like removing the alternator to install LTs. Also, just remove the two 10 mm bolts that hold on the steering shaft, its much easier. Shops that know what their doing take about that long.

Get the headers coated. It is worth it! Lower under hood temps and they will look and last longer. Kooks are hands down the bast IMO. Pypes is supposed to offer Kooks knock offs at a lower price. If you go with Pypes from Brenspeed I hear they will throw in a tune so that will save some more money. You will also need a new X or H pipe to bolt up to the headers so add that cost

What's you goal? What other mods does the car have? What is your reason for a aftermarket TB? Lots of guys running the stock TB over 500 hp since it is not a point of restriction . . . You'll be no where near the limits of the stock TB.

LT, gears, tune, one-piece drive shaft and suspension (adjustable UCA, LCAs, pan hard and brace) would be a good start. Electric H2O pump is also a nice mod but comes with a high hp to dollar ratio. I'm no expert, but this is my perception after having completed what your contemplating. Good luck!!

Here is my thing, i plan to get a 2012 gt or cobra. I can't see spending a bunch of money for a supercharger or turbo plus everything else that goes with it if you wanna run safe. If my car was brand new and i was going to keep it for 4-6 years then yea but at this point, i was just looking for some simple add-on's and exhaust.

these days alot of people are running around 480-500 rwhp safely as long as your manual. why not just set your vortech at 400 rwhp and you will be safe all day..... It all matters on the tune, and if you dont have a good local tuner, there are several tuners that can mail order you a good tune.

Im just speaking from experience..... I had boltons but in the end, they were a waste cuz i wanted cheap easy power......

[QUOTE=slidai;6906342]I have a 2006 gt vert and I have about $2,500 to spend on mods.

I was thinking a SCT Tuner and FRPP 3.73 gears combo for $540
SLP X-pipe (catted) $470 (already have the flows axle back)
BBK CAI $300
BBY 62 MM Throttle Body $320
Ford Racing headers $310 (i am open to any other suggestions on headers)[\QUOTE]

I would suggest doing about $1K in suspension mods [I.E. LCA's, UCA, HD Rear Sway Bar, Panhard bar. You'll love the handling after that and then maybe getting a CAI/Tuner package from Brenspeed.

Tune, gears, wide tires.

That's it. Well, aside from suspension. I'd look at the FRPP springs/struts and a rear sway. Then you're really done.
