Default $2500 for mods

I have a 2006 gt vert and I have about $2,500 to spend on mods.

I was thinking a SCT Tuner and FRPP 3.73 gears combo for $540
SLP X-pipe (catted) $470 (already have the flows axle back)
BBK CAI $300
BBY 62 MM Throttle Body $320
Ford Racing headers $310 (i am open to any other suggestions on headers)

All in all, that leaves me about $500 bucks left over.

I do have a question though. When selecting the 3.73 gears, you can also get a "motive bearing kit" for $75 and a "motive install kit" for $35. Also a "traction-LOK rebuild kit w/ carbon discs ford rebuild kit for $125. Are these needed? I would assume you would want to get new bearings for the new gears but which one do i need to get if any?

Any other suggestions would be cool. I will be installing all this with a buddy.

Ditch the bbk throttle body because it doesnt do any good. Get bbk or pypes long tube headers with a catted x pipe or slp long tubes with their catted x. Definitely get an intake and tuner combo and gears though.

So the bbk headers and shorty (catted) x-pipe seem to be a good deal. I had slp on my old car and loved it but are a grand just for the headers... is it really worth it for 'coated'?

Also, what about the bearing kits and such... should i get that?

I just got my gears done last week and I would say yes get the bearing kit. Labor wont be much more if any and if your gonna do gears spend a little more and do it right the first time. As far as coated headers go get the bbk coated ones they will stay looking like new for a long time plus it helps cool the exhaust and gives you a little more power. SLP headers are overpriced but slp makes damn good products but so does bbk.

CAI & tune combo from Brenspeed or Bama
Gears
UDP's
Aluminum DS
Electric water pump
Wider, stickier tires to put that power down with

Definately scratch the TB.

That should put you over 300 RWHP

if that was my budget, I'd get intake/tune, gears and cams- though honestly, you'd be spending a big chunk of it on the cam/gear install.

So, new twist on this question.

I have decided to get some long tubes among other things. I am going to try and install them myself. I have read over these boards for many days, looked at countless 'how to guides' and even the factory instructions.

I have access to a lift and any tool i could imagine at my school.

Remove the alternator, release the belts, remove the steering coupling and linkage, remove the motor mounts, jack the engine up, remove the headers. I know it's going to happen in 1 minute, but it does not seem that hard to do... with tools and a lift.

Think i could get this done in say... 5-7 hours with help?

I'd do Tune, CAI, 4.10 gears, springs, shocks, shifter.
That should come close, especially if you provide some of the labor.
