Default Will Mods for the 4.6 get cheaper now?

With the 5.0 coming out and the 4.6 being retired. I was wondering if the mods for the 4.6 will start coming down in price? What do you guys think?

I dont see it dropping that much within this first year, as their general market will still me 05-10 cars, where people are now finishing up payments on their rides and are looking to upgrade with the extra cash flow. Yes there will still be a market for the 5.0 (of which the performance products costs will be high), but the initial drop in the first year will be minimal at best

I bet the sales of mods and superchargers for 4.6 will increase. All us 4.6 owners will pay to be faster than a 5.0!

You have to remember that the roush blower is a ford performance part, meaning it can be bought as an extra option form the dealership (in most cases). With the new 2011 mustangs coming out with a new motor design, these units will be discounted, due in part to most of hte sales being generated during the purchase of the vehicle for these kits (just a guesstimate). Roush is not considered a viable company when it comes to aftermarket performance, as they do offer a package that is able to be purchased through the dealership.

If I am correct (which I may not be), I think the OP wants to know more about generalized kits provided by companies that do not just have the mustang as the Niche market, but produces parts for many other vehicles, such as procharger and vortex. Again, I may be incorrect though in some or all assumptions

When asking this question you should consider the rule of thumb in economics, supply and demand. If demand increases and supply remains the same, price goes up. If all the guys who own a 4.6 liter are trying to keep up with the new 5.0 the demand for aftermarket parts went up.

On top of that as the price for the older model Mustangs come down, they're more prone to be modified. Demand increases, prices go up.

On the other hand with the new 5.0 coming out most of those companys who provide all these aftermarket parts are going to be hard at work racing to produce the first parts for that engine. This means less production of the 4.6L parts. Supply goes down, demand goes up. Price goes up.

Over the next 2-3 years I'm sure you'll see a decrease in prices. Some of that will come with a decrease in quality. Just because there's a new engine out though, I wouldn't expect a decrease in prices.
