Default Gas pedal sensitivity

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2005 GT mineral grey 5-speed, 30k about 2 months ago. It's in great shape and I absolutely love it. However, I feel that the gas pedal may be too sensitive. If I push it in an inch it will rev to 3.2k . This is a problem for me going from a stop as I have to barely put my foot on to not over rev. Friends have also noticed how sensitive it is after they attempt.

Is this normal and do I just need to get used to it? Or is there something I can do to adjust it.

I can take videos if its needed but the best way I can describe it is I have about 3/4 of an inch to play with to get the car moving when I feel I should have a couple more inches.

thanks

I don't know I bought it used. Is there anything I can do to check?

You can reset the sensitivity of the throttle, assuming it's not some electronic malfunction/stupid mod by:

-Turn the key to on, do not start the car
-Push the throttle pedal all the way to the floor, very, very slowly, until flat against the floor
-Let the pedal return to position, again, very, very slowly

This will allow the computer to re-learn the position of the throttle, and it's full range. See if that does it!

Is there an aftermarket air intake or anything? You can try posting a pic of your engine bay or something. Also check your axle and see if they wrote 3.73 or 4.10 on it.

Why are you stopping after an inch?

Sensitivity sucks on the stock pedal IMO. Yours could be stock or could be a tune. Do you have a cai in it?

If you're still not satisfied after performing the recalibration procedure mentioned above (AND as stated in your Owners Manual [that thing made of paper with black markings on the pages in your glove box]), you may want to try a custom tune if you already don't have one loaded. But the custom tune would add about 20 or more RWHP and we wouldn't want THAT...
