Default LT Headers question

Do you need to install any type of sealant on the header gaskets or just stick the gaskets right on? I'm using the BBK replacement header gaskets btw

I would suggest putting a light coating of the high temp copper rtv on both sides of the gaskets. I meant to do that when I installed my kooks and I completely forgot. I had to go back and re-tighten my bolts down to stop a slight leak due to it.

As far as I know none of the exhaust header manufacturers require or recommend and gasket sealer. Just tighten in sequence which is top back bolt then bottom back bolt, going towards the front of car top to bottom and tighten to 18ft-lbs

I re-used stock gaskets, no sealant, and I have no leaks. The stockers didn't have sealant either.

+1, use stock gaskets (get a new pair from the dealer if you like) They never leak!
