Exclamation exhaust bracket problem?

hey guys i found out that the metal to metal noise is coming from the bracket touching the hanger. I tried to adjust the bracket and when i did it looked clear. I drove for about a half an hour an i heard that noise again. This all happend after i installed my macs. Should i go to an exhaust shop and have them adjust the hanger or what else can i do to stop the noise. I included pictures from when i fixed it to it after i drove for a while.

Thanks

Can you re-post the pictures? They are coming as broken links and it's hard to tell which hangers you are talking about. Are these at the midpipe, or all the way in the back?

My SLPs did this. When they were installed, it looked like they cleared everything. After running the car, the metal expands and the vibrations caused the hanger on the SLPs to hit by the hanger on the car. It would rattle and squeak at certain RPMs, which annoyed the hell out of me. I took it off and cut part of the hanger on the SLPs off so that it would have plenty of clearance...

Couldn't see your pictures, so not sure if this is what youre talking about...

Same issue for me- actually I had 2 issues>

1- The FRPP Stingers had a different shape to them and the leading edge on the driver’s side would hit the bracket that it hangs from (bracket bolts to the frame rail). Fixed it by grinding away a small portion of the bracket to get clearance.

2- I put the bracket on in (1) above with only 2 of the 3 bolts- thinking the lighter mufflers didn't need all 3....the one I left off was the middle/ vertical bolt. What I found out was that my car would vibrate *just right* at 1400 RPM and cause a resonance on that goofy bracket. Installed the 3rd bolt and noise went away.

good luck!

I had that issue with Bassani Race mufflers. So took an air-powered cutter tool and cut away enough of the hanger bracket that the hangers don't rub it anymore.

I also saw that when cold there was bout 1/4 - 1/2 inch clearance. But when hot, it rubbed. Surprised it expanded that much.
