Bad throttle response and idle

Be sure to have a copy of the TSB for the spark plugs handy, regardless of whether you or someone else changes them. If I was having someone else do it, I'd be sure it was a Ford dealer or a person that is familiar with the TSB. It can turn into a real nightmare.

Unless you are aware of the spark plug issue... and given the mileage you have, I would NOT attempt this on your own.
I would take it to a Ford Dealer that has done this specific job for this specific reason and has done it more than a couple of times.
That way they can "feel" if the plugs seem like they are going to break so they can know to stop and add more antiseize on them and let the car sit longer before trying again.
Patience and knowing the feel is very important in not getting the plugs to break. So like I said with high mileage and no experience with the issue I'd take it to the dealer.

thanks Shanec...can you recomend a brand?....
I forgot to say that I commute with the Car...and it has 120,000 miles on it. so it very well could be a dirty throttle body...do I just open up the air cleaner tube and spray it in while it is running???
also the other Guy recomended Plugs...I still have the original plugs with 120,000 miles on them
should I try the cleaner first?
many thanks...Ill put my Gun back in the closet.....

Spray the cleaner all around the throttle body blades, on both sides of the blades (towards the engine and away from the engine). Wipe clean with a cloth rag, not a paper towel. You won't want any paper towel debris breaking off in there.

Ok thanks....
I used spray and it really helped! I gave it little shots and wiped with a clean rag getting my finger way back behind the plates and then started it up...idle jumped up from about 400( and wanting to stall) to about 800-900 and rock steady!!!
simply amazing!!

Our cars are hyper-sensitive to the throttle body being perfect. Ask me how I know.
Yeah, you need a spark plug change. Trust me, just pay the dealer to do it.
