Gear Fluid?
Hi.
I was wondering what kind of gear fluid you use
on 2005-2009 Mustang GT's with Ford Racing 4.10 gears?
And is there a certain brand?
Thx.

Regular Ford gear oil with friction modifier will do, or you can use Royal Purple synthetic that does not requires modifier.

Isnt there a number or something like with engine oil?
example... 10w30 engine oil.
And can you get the Royal Purple at stores?
Or only online?

70w140.
And even with royal purple, you may need friction modifier, eventually. I had to add some after developing rear groan on slow turns.
You can find rp locally, but check around for best prices! Online, American Muscle usually has decent prices on it.

Any good brand of synthetic gear lube (75W140) along with 1 bottle of Ford friction modifier will be fine

Do manuals and autos use different oils or something?
Mine is a manual.
