Ack! I can't find out which one I need for sure!

Actually, autos and manuals both use ATF.

Guy who installed my 4.10's insisted on royal purple which he let me pick up...im cool with it. no noise.

If you use Motorcraft 75W140 you need two quarts plus the little bottle of XL3 friction modifier (for the clutches).

You will also need something to clean the old silicon off the rear cover. Thats assuming it was sealed with silicon like the factory does it (gaskets are old school).
